If it isn’t already convenient enough, here’s how to organize and store your ProStorage cases.

Okay, so you’ve done the best thing for yourself and your business and invested in ProStorage for your external hard drives. It’s awesome. We don’t have to tell you that. It’s so much more than the hard drive storage cases you’ve tried before, with their mediocre plastic shell and velvet lining. This is premium hard drive storage.

This is the data archiving version of retiring to Hawaii, except that your data will be easier to access. You know you have protection, which in turn gives you peace of mind. You are probably all kinds of excited and loading your external hard drives in it right now, tucking each drive of precious files away into that anti static foam as sweetly as you tuck your children into bed at night. Then another question arises…

How Should I Store My ProStorage Cases?

Our ProStorage cases are designed to do the work for you, so your storage options for them are simple. The more specific choices you make on how to store your archives are less black and white and more contingent on what best suits your needs.

The cleanest method that would make them easiest to get to would be filing cabinets.   ProStorage cases, which fit 18-24 hard drives each, are designed to fit perfectly into a standard filing cabinet drawer. This keeps them out of sight but easy to get to in a moment’s notice.  Whether or not this is the best option for you, though, depends on the specifics of your needs. If your data archiving quantities require maximum hard drive storage but space is limited, it may not make sense to purchase that many filing cabinets, and you might want something a little easier. Filing cabinets are the best option for those who are most concerned about appearance and easy access.

If you want them to be easily accessible but more spread out, shelving could be the best way to store your hard drive cases. This allows you see them and have easy access to them without having to search drawers for the one you’re looking for. But shelves don’t give you ability to hide them away like filing cabinets do.

Another option for organizing and storing your hard drive storage cases is using file boxes.  Since ProStorage foam protects your hard drives from data breaches and file corruption, storage boxes are just as safe of an option as filing cabinets or shelves. Like we said before, since our anti static foam does the protecting, where you store the hard drive cases is just more a matter of convenience for you. Storage boxes may be a better option for you if you don’t frequently need to access your files, and you have lots and lots of archives. This gets them out of your way, but allows them to still be protected. As long as they are labeled properly, you should still be able to find what you need in the event that access to them becomes a necessity.

If you have a different setup and need custom-sized storage units, ProStorage will work with you to tailor-make a storage system that suits your space and needs.

Optimize Organization

No matter where you store them, you will have the best relationship with your hard drive storage if you label and organize the storage cases by date (or any other category that better suits you).  Keeping them organized optimizes the organizational benefits that our foam hard drive storage cases give you.

File corruption and security issues are a potential nightmare for any business or individual that provides digital services or products, and many don’t consider just how terrible of an issue it could be until it’s too late. ProStorage is the solution that will ensure it won’t be an issue for you, giving you the ability to be proactive by properly and safely archiving even high volumes of hard drives.
